The Next Four Years – An Information Day on September 17th

August 7th, 2014

Sorry for the delay in updating posts, things were held back until the e-mail message had been sent out to those groups who had previously contacted the project, I hope you got yours! You might not be surprised to know that it has been a very busy few weeks too!

After the weekend’s commemoration events we now look toward the next national commemoration date of 25th April 2015; the anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli.

The Derbyshire Lives project will be putting on a First World War Day to help groups plan for the next four years, culminating in the most important centenary with the anniversary of the end of the conflict.

Speakers will include Sarah Chubb of the Derbyshire Record Office, Michael Noble of the Centre for Hidden Histories at the University of Nottingham and Sarah Finch of the Heritage Lottery Fund, East Midlands. There will be an opportunity to speak to people and to take part in informal workshops and network. The Day will be September 17th at Chesterfield Library.

There will be more information will be available soon here, on the Record Office web site and through e-mail and posters around libraries, so look out for that.
