Oh! What a lovely website

January 24th, 2017

As part of the last stages of our Derbyshire Lives Through the First World War project we have been working with Gravity Digital, local web designers to create a whole new website where we can showcase First World War projects that have happened across the county, leaving a lasting legacy of all the hard work which has gone on during the centenary commemorations.  And as you are here, reading this blog, you can see that this new website is now up and running.

If you used our previous site I hope that you agree that this is a big improvement.  We are still tinkering with it – adding captions to images and including more of your stories.  We will also soon be adding specially made short films, which highlight some of the projects and give advice on doing your own. But already we now have a site that includes a much better timeline, a gallery of images from our collections, information on lots of projects from around the county and a help section for anyone thinking of organising their own project in the future. We will still be blogging but obviously from our new site, so if you’d signed up to blogs from our old site please do sign up on here.  Our own project may be coming to an end but of course the First World War commemorations will continue until Armistice Day 2018 so there will be new projects to mention and lots to talk about.
