The Derbyshire Lives project is running another information day to help groups plan toward the centenary of Armistice in 2018, the most important anniversary of the First World War commemorations, and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has announced £4m for the East Midlands Region, First World War: Then and Now funding stream.
If you want to engage your community with their heritage and gather information through activities prior to Armistice Day, you need to start thinking now!
It might sound a bit premature, but if your group holds monthly meetings, consider how many meetings it might take to compose and agree a project and then make a pre-application to the HLF and then a full application and then give the HLF 2 months to evaluate and reply.
Come along to a FREE event at Chesterfield Library on Friday 16th October and hear from groups who have successfully gained funding for their events, speakers who can give a different perspective on the subjects raised by the War and the HLF themselves.
