Heritage Lottery Fund Project Advice
We’ve a lot of experience in heritage projects, so if you’re thinking of applying for funding we can offer you advice to help you shape, plan and cost your project.
We can advise you on what to include in bids, particularly where historical research is needed. We also often know about other similar projects that have taken place or are being worked on, and can give you useful contacts.
Staff at the Derbyshire Record Office will be happy to discuss your project with you. Please contact us as early as you can so we’ve time to give you the best advice.
Getting a letter of support
The Record Office is keen to encourage heritage projects in Derby and Derbyshire and can write a letter to support your bid. We particularly support projects that:
- Fill a gap in the history of Derby or Derbyshire (see What project will you do?)
- Have planned and costed long term preservation and access for the project archive
If you’d like us to write a letter of support, please contact us as early as possible, so we can get to know your project. We won’t normally provide a letter of support until we have discussed the project with you over the phone or in person and have seen your draft bid.
