Alternatives to HLF funding

The Heritage Lottery Fund isn’t the only body that funds heritage projects.  If you don’t want to make an HLF bid, there are other ways to raise money for your project.

For small amounts of money, you can fundraise within your community by requesting donations and holding fundraising events.  The Belper at War project is an excellent example of this.

If you want to restore your local war memorial, The War Memorial Trust has grants on offer.

If your project is connected with one of Derbyshire’s former coal mining communities the Coalfields Regeneration Trust might support you.

There are also lots of small local grant giving bodies.  Check with your local district council about available grants and take a look at the Foundation Derbyshire website.
