Lullington – The Home Front: a WW1 memorial walk
South Derbyshire District Council’s Environmental Education Project was awarded £9,800 by the Heritage Lottery Fund to create South Derbyshire World War 1 commemorative walks, trails and school packs on local parks.
As part of this ‘Lullington – The home Front: a WW1 memorial walk’ was created by Dorothy Morson. This two mile long walk around the village looks at changes which happened as a result of social and economic changes following WW1, focusing in particular on the role of farmers, labourers, miners and women.
History trail and walk leaflets are available from Swadlincote Tourist Information Centre, based at Sharpe’s Pottery Museum, or are downloadable from the South Derbyshire District Council First World War Centenary page.
